Mourinho successfully applies siege mentality at Stamford Bridge

Such sentiments summed up Mourinho’s demeanour after an eventful few days even by his standards. Opponents, rival managers and fans, officials, television pundits and the authorities have all tried to put Chelsea down according to Mourinho. Even after the final whistle, having collected a draw that helps #Chelsea far more than Manchester City, #Mourinho stepped into the tunnel and shouted disparaging remarks.

Mourinho declared in the programme that he remembered the moments when “the gods of football were against us”. People try to put Chelsea down but they respond. They did here against City, fighting for a draw. Earlier in the week, there had been a return to the old ways, to Wembley Way. Mourinho revelled in the victory over Can and company in that Capital One Cup semi-final, adding in his match-day notes that “I love these players and I love this club”. He does embarrass them at times.
